Reading Model, Serial, and Firmware Fields in SADP
How to use SADP as a quick inventory pane: which columns matter for spares planning, RMAs, and firmware compatibility.
SADP’s grid is more than an activation launcher; it is a field inventory when spreadsheets lag reality. Focus on model strings that map to datasheets, serial numbers for RMA conversations, and firmware builds when you wonder whether a feature (like certain smart events) exists on a line item.
Export discipline
Many teams screenshot the grid for punch lists. Better: copy rows into your ticketing system so technicians see the same truth. If Hikvision’s tool offers export in your build, store the CSV alongside site photos in the customer folder.
When data looks stale
If a device was just flashed or rebooted, hit refresh in SADP. If values still look wrong, compare against the web UI’s Device Information page. Mismatches sometimes mean multiple NICs or a gateway performing proxy ARP—topics we cover in the troubleshooting section.
