Documenting SADP Device Lists for Handover Packets
Turn SADP results into customer-ready documentation: naming conventions, export hygiene, and pairing with photos of cable labels.
Handover quality separates professional integrators from one-off installers. After scanning with SADP, align hostnames or labels in your documentation platform with the physical location (“Building C — East stair”). Include PoE switch port, patch panel coordinate, and the management IP block.
Why it matters
Six months later, when a camera drops offline, the next technician should not need to rediscover everything from scratch. A CSV captured from SADP (when available) plus PDFs of switch configs saves hours.
Privacy
Customer lists may be sensitive. Store exports encrypted and limit sharing to stakeholders covered under your MSA.
