Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SADP Tool (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit sadptool.net (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Who we are
SADP Tool is an independent educational website about Hikvision’s SADP utility and IP camera networking. We are not affiliated with Hikvision. For privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@sadptool.net or through our contact page.
Information we collect
We collect limited information to operate, secure, and improve the Site. The types of information include:
- Server and hosting logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We use this data for security, abuse prevention, and to understand aggregate traffic patterns.
- Contact information you provide. If you email us or submit a message through our contact page, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your name, email address, and message content).
- Browser-local tools. Utilities on /utilities (for example JSON, Base64, and word-count tools) run entirely in your browser. We do not intentionally receive the text you enter into those tools on our servers.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies as described in the sections below.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Site and its content;
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests;
- Monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Site;
- Understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate (not to identify you personally);
- Display advertising, where enabled, and measure ad performance;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”), to understand how visitors interact with the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as how often users visit the Site, which pages they view, and what other sites they used prior to visiting. Google uses this data to evaluate use of the Site and compile statistical reports.
You can learn how Google collects and processes data at Google’s partner sites policy. You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We may display advertisements on the Site through Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this Site or other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Ad partners may collect or receive information from your browser or device when ads are shown on the Site. This may include cookie data, device identifiers, IP address, and general interaction data. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising technology policies.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising (where applicable). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the Site, including how ads are displayed.
Types of cookies that may be used on the Site include:
- Essential cookies — required for basic site operation and security.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand visitor traffic and usage patterns (for example, through Google Analytics).
- Advertising cookies — used by ad partners such as Google AdSense to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see an ad, and show more relevant advertisements.
Third-party links and services
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including Hikvision’s official support portals and other external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. When you leave our Site, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
Some pages may include embedded content (such as videos or widgets) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may collect data, use cookies, or track your interaction with that content.
Data retention
We retain server logs and correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Site, resolve disputes, enforce our policies, and comply with legal obligations. Analytics and advertising partners may retain data according to their own retention schedules, as described in their privacy policies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@sadptool.net.
- EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.
- California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of interest-based advertising, use the links in the Advertising section above.
- Cookie controls. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. See your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

The Site is operated from servers that may be located in different countries. If you access the Site from outside your home country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be noted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
